The purpose of the Murray Machinery Gravel Road Grader is to reinstate gravel roads which have fallen into a state of disrepair, to a new and pristine condition.
The maintenance of gravel roads is a constant problem. It can also be very expensive to repair and maintain in terms of the need to add extra material to fill the pot holes and low points as well as the man hours it takes to get the job complete.
The Murray Gravel Road Grader in its standard guise has been on the market for a number of years now, but in recent times the Road Grader has undergone a major upgrade, with the addition of hydraulically operated ripper teeth and hydraulically operated tilting frame. The most recent change to the Murray Road Grader is the new addition of a rear compactor roller.
The Murray Road Grader is now able to carry out four different functions in the same machine, and in utilising stone from the existing road surface, great savings can be made on time, effort and the money spent on maintaining your gravel road.
The ripper teeth, when deployed at the start of the grading process, allow the operator to “break” the hardened surface of the gravel road, which in turn allows the loose stone and aggregate to be collected by the Grader. The Road Grader will then carry this until it reaches a pot hole or low point and will then deposit the material. The action of the ripper teeth eliminates the need of the road owner to hire costly diggers and machinery to carry out this process.
The addition of the hydraulically operated tilting frame allows the operator to alter the camber on the whole width of the graders levelling frame, thus allowing the road to be sloped to one side or another, therefore rain water management is greatly improved.
The most recent change to the Road Grader is the addition of the rear compactor roller. Once the first functions have been carried out: ripping, grading, cambering and levelling, the rear compactor roller can be deployed. This will further compact and seal the surface of the road ensuring a more long-lasting surface, and no more costly repairs on vehicles and machinery.
The Murray Gravel Road Grader can be used on farm roads and drives, estate roads and forest roads.
